Trophy Daughter Take 2

Lindsey has done awesome in her dance class and was so excited to go to the awards ceremony/picnic at the park tonight...she was just sure she would get another trophy. Well, not only did she get another trophy....she got 3 more trophies! One for participation, one for awesome attitude, and one for perfect attendance! My little dancing queen was smiling ear to ear as they kept calling her name...so proud of my baby girl! Way to go Lindsey! :)

Fire truck, Fire truck....

Dylan and his preschool class were invited to a tour of the Grantsville City Fire station...including a ride on the fire truck. Dylan was so excited to go with his friends and I was able to go with them. :) We rode down to the station from the preschool, had a full tour of the station and the firefighters talked to the kids about fire safety and had them practice their Stop, Drop and Roll skills. Then we all hopped back on the fire truck and headed back to school. Dylan was a little scared of the firefighter in his full gear (I think because of the oxygen mask) but had a great time checking everything out. I'm so glad I got to go with him! :)

Puppy Love

Missy has been a great addition to our family....the kids just love her and she has brought them so much joy. I'm so glad she came to join us at our home. The kiddos beg and beg to play with her everyday when we get home, we sure are looking forward to warmer weather so we can stay out with her a little bit longer. :)

Dancing Through Kindergarten

I cannot believe I have a Kindergarten graduate already! :) Lindsey soared through her first year of school and did awesome at all of it! She has become a great student, reads well and her writing is getting better and better each day. At the end of the year, the kindergarten classes put on a program, Ryan and I were lucky enough to be able to both go see her dance, she even got daddy up to do the chicken dance with her. She did so well and is becoming such a great kid. Love you baby girl! Congrats on completing Kindergarten!

SnowWest Snowmobile Show

This year we decided to take the kiddos and head to the snowmobile show in West Yellowstone for the weekend. Dave and Raylene headed up with us and we made it a nice little vacation. The kids had a great time seeing the bears and wolves and took full advantage of the swimming pool in the hotel. We wandered around to see all the snowmobiles and the vintage sleds were pretty cool. We watched the snowmobile races for a little bit but the kids were getting tired of walking so we didn't stay long. We wandered through town, did a little shopping and just enjoyed getting away. I think Dylan's favorite part was the motorcycle freestyling in the middle of town for about an hour...he thought it was the coolest and was so disappointed when it was over. All in all we had a great time...maybe we should make this our yearly trip. :)

Locks of Love

Lindsey's hair has been long since she finally had hair. She never really had short hair. She lovingly refers to it as her "princess hair." But the princess hair is hard to manage sometimes...it gets snarly, she hates getting it combed out, it seems like there is always something sticky in it and it just was time for a change. So I tried to convince Lindsey to cut it short (like in Tangled at the end) but she wanted nothing to do with it. We even went on lock of love's website to show her what she could do for a little girl who had no hair. Nope. Princess hair was staying as far as she was concerned. Well...then mom stepped in. I told her we were going to see Kristy to get her hair cut...she was thinking trimmed...I was thinking cut. Guess who won. :) She looks absolutely adorable and she gets compliments from everyone...but she was pretty ticked at me for the rest of the week. All in all, we cut off about 10.5 inches and will be sending it to locks of love. One day I'm sure she'll forgive me...but for now, her face says it all. :)

Family Dinner

We decided to invite Brad, Amy, Natalie and Kate Grigch over for dinner and to play. We fired up the barbecue and Amy brought some most delicious salad and dip and chips. The kids absolutely love to play with Natalie and Kate so they were stoked that they came to play at our house. They played dress up and Dylan was their prince, they built towers with blocks and played dolls. They even had their very own kids table for dinner...they were on top of the world. We all had a great time, I think maybe we should make this a regular habit. :)

One Year Older & Wiser Too...

The big 31...and I hope I've learned a few things over this past year as well. I think I have. :) We kept it low key for my birthday this year. My favorite dinner of chicken & noodles at Dave and Raylene's and some cake and ice cream too. Birthday wishes from family and friends made the day a little sweeter. Here's to another year...

Love At First Sight

While wondering the toy aisles in Walmart...Lindsey came across a giant Sulley the monster from Monsters Inc. She was in love with it and wanted it right then and there. I convinced her to wait and see what she got for Valentine's Day with the plan to come back and get it later. So we took a picture to tide her over. But when I went back to pick up Sulley...they were all gone. Valentine's Day came and went and my little baby girl was heart broken. The search was on...and it continued for about 3 weeks when finally (on a whim) when I was wandering through Walmart while Lindsey was at dance class I decided to check (again). And lo and behold...Sulley had returned! I snatched him up and went to pick up Lindsey. As soon as she got in the car, she saw the fur and freaked! It was one of the best surprises ever...she was so excited!!! Lesson learned...don't wait, just get it then. :) Welcome to the family Sulley!

Brother + Sister = Best Friend

Dylan and Lindsey may fight a lot...but I know they love each other. And the majority of the time, they play so well together...I can tell they are best friends. Dylan is so concerned with Lindsey being happy and Lindsey tries so hard to help him learn words and reading. They love to play trucks together, they love to sing to the Fresh Beat Band Together, they love to laugh to Pocoyo together...they have so much fun together, it makes my heart happy. They always have some little game that they've made up to play together. I hope they'll always be this close. I do love my baby girl and my bubby!

Mini-Me

I don't care what everyone else says...these kiddos look like their dad. Dylan especially. So when Ryan and Dylan both put their hats on...it's even more obvious. Now they're ready to go outside for some fun. I love these boys so much!

Happy Birthday Louie!!!

Today Ryan turned 31...which means I'm next. Yuck. It's hard to really celebrate when your birthday is in the middle of the week...so we went to Wendover that weekend instead. Grandma Jolene came out and stayed with the kiddos while Ryan and I went out. Dinner at the buffet was great and we had fun playing the slots afterwards. We even came home ahead! :) I don't know what I'd do without this man of mine and I'm so glad he's sharing his life with me. He is the perfect husband and an awesome father...I'm lucky that I found him. Love you babe! Happy Birthday!

Happy New Year!

We rang in the new year with just our family this year....which is something new and different for us but we had a great time. We were invited to a few places but since everyone has been sick off and on we decided to just kick it at home. The kids and I played games and ate popcorn and treats. We watched some cartoons and were all in bed by 1030. Maybe not the most exciting...but we had a good time and I got to ring in the new year with my absolutely favorite people! :)

Merry Christmas!

Santa was definitely good to the kiddos this year. They must have been even more well behaved than I thought! Christmas morning came and the kiddos were ready to go. Piles of presents and everything they had asked for was there. Even a few presents for mom and dad too! Then it was off to the festivities at Grandma and Grandpa Langford's with all the cousins...What a perfect day! Merry Christmas Everyone!

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve brings the family party at Grandma and Grandpa Langfords with it....which we always look forward to. A wonderful dinner, a visit from Santa Clause, new Christmas Jammies for everyone and the spirit of Christmas in the air. This year was no different. The kiddos each got new Christmas socks and a "credit card"  (gift card) from Santa this year...they were so excited! New jammies from Grandma and Grandpa for everyone made the night perfect! After the festivities, we headed home to set out cookies and milk for Santa and put the kids to bed so he could come drop off all the goodies. And it even snowed today! A white Christmas...what more could you ask for?!?

New Traditions

This year we started a new tradition. In light of things that have happened over the past year, and the fact that absolutely NONE of the traditions I had growing up are still intact...we decided to host Christmas this year for my family. Just a simple dinner with my mom, my sister and her family, my dad and my step mom. And I have to say that I think it went well. I enjoyed having everyone here, the kids loved having everyone here at the same time and really, it's the closest I will ever get to a "family Christmas" again. So I think we will stick with it. Here's to new traditions! :)

O Christmas Tree

The Langford Family Christmas Tree....
Decorated with everything and anything. Ryan and I have tried to keep the spirit of Christmas alive as we remember it from being younger. Our tree growing up was always covered with colorful lights, tinsel and handmade ornaments from school along with a new ornament we were given every year. Ryan remembers his as the same kind of tradition. When Ryan and I got married, all of the ornaments that I had been given over the years were given to me in a box of my own. I hope to carry on this tradition with our kiddos too...the already have quite the collection. Some of my favorite additions from this year include the red solo cup bell that Dylan made in preschool. The elf ornament with a picture of Dylan in it that he made in preschool and the bird ornament beautifully colored by Lindsey in her kindergarten class. I love how our tree is a little bit different every year, but yet, still the same. While the matchy, matchy trees with a million and half little white lights are beautiful...this is the only kind of tree fit for our family. I love it! And I love the memories that come with it! Merry Christmas everyone!

Ride the Train and See the Lights!

This year, I failed, once again to get tickets to take the kids on the Polar Express so instead we met up with the Grgich Family and took the kids on the Trax train to see the lights at temple square. We had so much fun! I would absolutely love to make this a new tradition for our families! We met in Salt Lake and enjoyed a delicious dinner at Texas Roadhouse then headed down to the Trax station. The kids were so excited to ride the train! It started to snow a little bit which just added to the excitement for the kiddos. The train ride up was crowded but the kids still had fun and when we got downtown the lights were way worth it. We walked around Temple Square, headed over to City Creek for a little bit where I randomly ran into Ashlee Hansen Tibbets (which was awesome, I haven't seen her forever!) and then we continued on through the lights and headed back to the train. The ride home was a lot better since we all had seats but the kids were totally worn out. It was definitely a long night, but so much fun! Merry Christmas!

Waiting for the Train to come
