Trick or Treat! Smell My Feet! Give Me Something Good To Eat!

For Halloween this year, Lindsey was set on being Rapunzel from Tangled and Dylan couldn't make up his mind for the longest time. When he finally decided...he wanted to be a "Monster Jam Gravedigger Monster Truck Driver." Which is not really a costume that exists. So, with the help of my dear friend Lisa and a lot of felt, we constructed a Monster Truck fit for my little man. I think it turned out pretty good (especially for a first try) and he absolutely loved it!

We took the kids trick or treating around the neighborhood then hopped in the car to see Great Grandma, Grandma and Grandpa and drop stuff off for the cousins. All in all, it was a great night! Love my beautiful princess and my monster truck driver! Happy Halloween!

Jack O Lanterns

The Happy Pumpkins

The Scary Pumpkins
This year we had plenty of pumpkins to carve into Jack O Lanterns...Lindsey was so excited to scoop out the guts this year and help me draw the shapes for her pumpkin faces. She had 2 pumpkins to carve this year so she wanted a scary one and a happy one. We got to work drawing the faces on, mom cut out the shapes and the top and then she got to work on scraping out the guts. It was "slimy" and "sticky" but she did a fantastic job. Daddy carved his pumpkin into a happy, jolly guy and we decided to make mine scary too. By the time we were done with the 4 pumpkins, we decided to just let Dylan be the happy one Lindsey had done...my hands were too tired to cut anymore and it was time for bed. :) All in all, I think we had some great jack o lanterns this year, they all looked awesome all lit up too. Happy Halloween!

Costume Parade

Singing about the witches
Singing about the ghosts

Dylan's preschool has a costume parade every year for Halloween. Lindsey's were so much fun to watch, I was so excited for Dylan's. This year, Dylan decided he wanted to be a Monster Jam Gravedigger Monster Truck Driver. So my friend Lisa and I constructed a Monster Truck costume for him to wear. It was pretty awesome and he actually really liked it. He was nervous to walk in the parade (typical Dylan) but did just fine, however, his truck was on backwards so it was dragging behind him. He did great anyway :) And all the kids looked great in their costumes. After the parade, the kids sit on the stairs in front of the school and sing the Halloween songs they have learned for all the parents. Dylan knew most of the words and did the actions as well...he was super cute! Then they have a Halloween Party in the school and then come home all jacked up on sugar. Dylan was no exception. :) Makes me even more excited for Halloween tomorrow!

More rocks for the "collection"

My Boys
We can't bear for summer to be over just yet. It's just not time yet. So we loaded up the kids and headed up the canyon for a weenie roast one more time. We built a fire, threw rocks in the creek, cooked hot dogs and roasted marshmallows all underneath the beautiful red and yellow leaves of fall. It was perfect. A little chilly....but perfect. It seems like it will be forever until we can do this again next summer....

The Great Pumpkin....

We headed to the Pumpkin Patch early this year so we could find the pick of the patch. Lindsey and Dylan were so excited to go pick pumpkins again, we headed down to the local pumpkin patch in town where you can wander through the entire patch and pick whatever you'd like. Lindsey found some perfectly shaped pumpkins and Dylan found some just his size. Dad had to pick the biggest one and mine were pretty average. We also gathered up some smaller ones for decorating in the house. Dylan found an old John Deere tractor too that he thought was the coolest. He kept asking me if he could drive it. The closest I could give him was to let him sit on it for a minute....that seemed to make him happy enough for this time. :)All in all we had a great time and got the perfect pumpkins. What a perfect night with the family! :)

New Friends

Lindsey and Mackenzie Green have become quick friends this past year. Mackenzie's mom and I work together and that's how Lindsey and Kenzie met. They don't see each other all that often, but when they do they have a great time. This time we had gone to lunch at Applebee's for a coworkers birthday celebration. The kids were almost silent the ENTIRE lunch, but then as soon as we went outside they were laughing and hugging and having a great time. I almost didn't want to make her go home. Hopefully we will see more of Mackenzie over the years...playdates and swimming sound like a good plan. :)

Walk To School Day

Today was "walk or bike to school day" at Willow Elementary School. Kristy called to see if Lindsey wanted to walk to school with Dalton and Drake...she was thrilled! Ryan drove her down to a house by the school so she could meet up with the boys and they could walk the rest of the way. Because they participated in "walk to school day" they got a water bottle and a snack. She was so excited to tell me all about it after school. So glad Kristy called and included her...it made her whole day. :)
